I’ve been thinking about the phrase ALL THE BEST DAYS and how some days aren’t the best, they are actually the worst. Or they are just okay. Or they are boring.
Our days are a lot of things and that’s life, that’s adulthood? I don’t know what it is, but I do know it’s reality. And what I also know is that our days matter and, as the famous saying goes, “how we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives.” (Annie Dillard)
I want to spend my days in a way that matter. Which means knowing myself and the things that light me up, spur me on and cultivate curiosity. Having the BEST day doesn’t mean I’m at Disney World all of the time, or that I even want that! (And I freaking love Disney!) Having the best day is about noticing things that are true, loving other people well, experiencing people’s brilliant creativity and art through their craft - be it food, curated gift shops, encountering art pieces. Having the best day is way deeper than having the most fun time.
And when I think about the things that give me my best day I feel so much gratitude for this life. Because its those things that put the meat on the bones of our days.
Which makes me so excited to introduce you to our NEW logo!!!
I’m so excited about it…
The sun coming up. The map marker saying “you are here.”
There is so much more to come and I am so grateful that YOU are here.
Let’s get to the good stuff, shall we?!
All the Best Days in November
I am ready for a fresh month! Click the Calendar below to download your FREE All the Best Days in November Calendar. Here’s how I’m filling out my Best Days!
GET MOVING: Taking a hike on Piedmont Ridge Hike and Scyene Overlook in Dallas, one of the best spots to watch the changing colors of the forest. I’m thankful for the reds and oranges of the fall!
GET COFFEE: I’m thankful for my local coffee shop, Communion Coffee. Yall, find your favorite local place and visit often. There is nothing better than cozying up with your favorite coffee and your favorite journal and spending an hour among YOUR PEOPLE.
GET SHOPPING: You can finally order the HAVE THE BEST DAY trucker hat! Get yours right here!
GET FOOD: This is the month of casseroles! And one of my mom’s signature dishes is the ASPARAGUS CASSEROLE. ( This recipe is what I grew up eating but switch out the potato chips for breadcrumbs.) I literally cannot fathom Thanksgiving without a hundred casseroles.
GET INSPIRED: The North Texas Food Bank has an Amazon Wishlist! What an awesome and easy way to help stock them up for the holidays.
GET TOURISTY: Let’s all collectively turn our TV’s on on Thanksgiving morning and watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade together, okay! I’m all for the nostalgic floats, the peek at this season’s Broadway musicals and of course the big guy himself bringing up the rear and ushering in the Christmas season!

Music Remembers Your Trip
You know when you hear a song and it takes you back to where you were when you heard it? Natasha Bedingfield’s Unwritten is the ONLY song my sister and I listened to on our trip to Laguna Beach in 2006. Whenever I hear that song, it takes me right back! As you head out on your Holiday Trips, here are a few of my favorite Road Trip albums. I’d love to hear from you, what are your favorites?
All the Best Days has a Spotify Playlist that we are always adding some of our favorite road trip tunes to that your kiddos will love as well!
YOUR TURN! Are you traveling for Thanksgiving??
Where are you headed? Where are you staying put? Tell us about your best day there!

Thanks for the D Magazine article about trails in the Dallas area. I live in North Texas (Frisco) and I'd heard about a few of these, but there were a couple tat I'm going to check out next weekend. I'm always looking for new to me and interesting things to do in this area. I really enjoy your All the Best Days newsletters.
